The IM Silver Portal is a website managed by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The Portal provides online guides, content and resources aimed at helping seniors and mature adults learn how to use mobile and digital technologies effectively.
Building Digital Readiness is part of Singapore’s efforts to ensure that every citizen is able to seize the benefits and opportunities afforded by technology. The vision is to build an inclusive digital society where the people have the necessary tools and skills to thrive; and can use technology to participate meaningfully in the Digital Economy. IMDA has various Digital Readiness initiatives to provide people with affordable digital access, digital literacy skills and know-how to use digital technology safely and confidently, as well as inspire adoption of new emerging technologies through experiential learnings.
Silver Infocomm Initiative
The Silver Infocomm Initiative (SII) is a Digital Readiness effort that aims to promote digital inclusion for seniors. Led by the government in strong partnership with industry, academia and the community, it offers a range of learning platforms to engage seniors and mature adults so that they, too will be able to benefit from a digital economy. Annually, the Silver Infocomm Initiative benefits over 50,000 seniors, equipping them with relevant digital skills for daily living.
